Character Development - Robot - Arm

My main idea at the moment is based around a robot reassembling himself in a junk yard. Here are a couple of mood boards I made to research the conetent.

I really liked the concept of the robotic arm being the first character so this for me was a good place to start drawing and refining some of my ideas. My main train of thought being that I could build the robot from the hand and upwards. Here are some of my initial design sketches.
